About this item

Political Re-Mapping of Africa: Transnational Ideology and the Redefinition of Africa in World Politics

Political re-mapping is the redefinition of African politics in world politics. The old paradigms and scholarship about Africa have failed to fully understand and advance Africa. Despite various struggles Africans have waged against imperialist forces, Africa has been participating in world economics and politics as a reactive agent. The author argues that without a structural change, the contemporary African state is not capable to lead Africa to the way of social progress. The only way out is the articulation and advancement of the realist pan-Africanism and the existing regional economic organizations must be democratized, decentralized and their actions must be guided by a trans-national ideology. The strength of the book lies in its going beyond conventional explanations for Africa's underdevelopment.>>>> ( Modern African Studies ) In general, the book is well-written. The author has been highly successful in articulating his idea of political re-mapping of Africa and has powerfully and concisely put it across to the reader.>>>> ( Canadian Journal Of Development Studies ) In general, the book is well-written.
