“I guess life is kind of like the summer I spent with Jesse—long days make short weeks, and you don’t get much of a chance to be a different person.” —PJ Unable to forgive himself for his involvement in a tragic crime, PJ escapes to the solitude of Able Lake every year, trying to reconcile the past and put it behind him. Now suffering from degenerative memory loss, he struggles to recall events surrounding the tragedy and confess to the lake one last time before it is too late. As he tells a story of small town conspiracy, murder and miracles, he finds salvation may have been with him all along. S.H. McCord grew up in Sandy Springs, Georgia where he went to North Springs High School and then on to Georgia Tech to major in Industrial Management. He earned his MBA at the University of Memphis while working as an Engineering Specialist for FedEx and later made a living as a general contractor in residential home construction. In 2008, S.H. McCord followed a calling and made the jump to teaching middle school math a stone's throw from his boyhood home. In 2012 he published his debut novel, The Bones of Boulder Creek, which has gone on the summer reading lists of several local schools, and was selected as the January 2013 pick for young adults by the Pulpwood Queens Book Club. The Gospel of Jesse is his second literary work.
