Quantum Hughes is the type of guy who doesn't back down from a fight. Trapped in a virtual world with a limitless inventory list, Quantum lives his days on repeat, fighting the same killer NPCs and hashing out the same dark and gritty story lines again and again. But everything isn’t fun and games for Quantum Hughes. He receives a message from an actual human player, his first message from a real person in years, which sparks an epic adventure across multiple online fantasy worlds. Suddenly Quantum is being hunted by a murder guild known as the Reapers; suddenly he’s no longer the toughest guy on the block; suddenly, his real world body is no longer safe. LitRPG action, humorous cyberpunk musings, and fantasy settings combine in this ground-breaking sci-fi series. Get started on the best-selling Feedback Loop series today and join in the adventure! A wild ride from start to finish!" -- Jack Kenne --- ★★★★★ "What can I possibly review? It combines all my favorite things. Noir, litrpg, snappy one liners, unnecessary violence, and beautiful dames..."-- Mason Partman --- ★★★★★ "This guy can write! Great story, you'll get suckered in to the whole series! There's as much fun in he language as there is in the storyline, and it's a pleasure to be dropped into these worlds!"-- M.M. Halstead --- ★★★★★ "A mad, insane totally awesome sci-fi story... With sharp writing and an edgy, fast-paced plot,it's easy to get lost in the game yourself. The extensive and graphic world-building with The Loop should especially impress gamers for the authentic feel it gives." -- Amazon top 500 reviewer --- ★★★★★ "What made me start reading was the concept. What kept me reading was the well-developed characters, a plot that was not predictable, and finally, a book that was not just some glorified video game play script." -- Kent Hoffman What inspired you to write this series? The biggest inspiration for me by far was the anime series Sword Art Online. What a great series! Being stuck in a digital world made me think of Groundhog Day, a movie that I watched probably 56 (or 57) times in the 90s. I was also a gamer in my youth, and I knew exactly what it was like to use inventory lists to do things in games and to decipher various strategies. My years wasted (or spent?) gaming also play a part in this series. I've always been interested in gritty settings, like Basin City in Sin City or Hell's Kitchen in Daredevil, as well as (unnecessary) tough guy talk exhibited in practically all of Charles Bukowski's works. I wanted to replicate this type of setting and language in The Feedback Loop Book One, placing the main character, Quantum, in a vice-ridden fleshpot of a world called The Loop. The language in the book is especially important to me. My editor,George C. Hopkins, and I have spent long hours peppering the book with forgotten sayings, 1930s slang, hard-boiled detective verbiage and ultra obscure film references. Look for them and bask in their obscurity if you find them. Finally, reading Ready Player One put all these ideas together into a coherent story line revolving around people stuck in digital worlds and a federally funded team sent to retrieve them. The Feedback Loop is a standalone series which takes place twenty-five years before my other series, Life is a Beautiful Thing. These books are meant to be enjoyed by sci-fi fans and people who don't read sci-fi. Cyberpunk, dystopian, romance, fantasy, techno thriller and sci-fi adventure elements all make their way into the series, as do evil corporations, androids, assassins and advanced weaponry. The various worlds introduced allow for world-building on an epic scale. In Book Three, Quantum will be alternating between four worlds essentially: the real world, The Loop, Steam (a steampunk world), and Tritania (a massive fantasy world). More to follow . Why digital worlds? What do you mean by digital worlds? Digital worlds is actually a misnomer for the worlds used in this book. The worlds used are virtual entertainment dreamworlds (called VE dreamworlds). Imagine a neuronal algorithm that can create an infinite number of worlds that one can spawn in using a Daft Punk-like visor. These worlds are re
