Alabama Dinosaurs — 4th Edition by David T. King, Jr. This edition of Alabama Dinosaurs is intended for use by a general audience, including high-school and college students. While it can be used as a textbook, the fourth edition update was published specifically to make increase the appeal to a wider audience -- for use by anyone interested in dinosaurs, especially eastern North American dinosaurs. This edition of Alabama Dinosaurs contains some newly synthesized data and fresh interpretations about eastern North American dinosaurs in general and Alabama’s dinosaurs in particular. Also, there are new figures, including a appendix containing historical photographs and drawings. In Alabama, there were at least five main groups of dinosaurs: tyrannosaurs, large herbivores called hadrosaurs, delicate ornithomimids (or bird-mimic) dinosaurs, small swift raptors called dromaeosaurs, and the heavily armored nodosaurs. Each of these groups is discussed in the book -- what they looked like, where they lived, how their fossils are found, and other items of interest about them and about Alabama during the time they lived there.
