For Girls who Cry in Public is a collection of poetry and thoughts, ideas and conversations about loss, heartbreak, love, life, femininity, and the journey towards mental clarity. It is a collection of evidence to the act that we are all in this together; we are all connected within these moments. We take our heartache and turn it into something tangible, in order to grow and blossom. Love is lurking everywhere; you just have to ask her what she's thinking. Mara Sudol is an American poet, illustrator and author, living in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her work explores relationships, the human condition, romance, heartbreak, mental health and femininity. Mara credits her creative influences to the love, drugs and nightmares of New York City art school, LA lovers, the cocktail sippers at her bar, the gossip queens who adore her and her spunky dogs, Reo and Busy.
