La Centra D Arte, set in the beautiful Tuscan landscape, is open for the first painting course of the season and proprietor Patrick Forster welcomes the disparate group who are its first students. Among them is Rose Pazzi, who the year before married Alfredo (Dodo) Pazzi, the scion of the local gentry, only to be widowed soon after when he was murdered. Now she is back, but why? In this book, Anna Fox weaves her tale of intrigue in the art world and leaves the reader wanting more. Anna Fox left school at sixteen to train at RADA to be an actress. Her first job on graduating was in Scarborough for Stephen Joseph s Theatre in the Round, as an ASM and playing a part in J. B. Priestley s An Inspector Calls. This was followed by work in a variety of repertory theatres around the country including the Manchester Library Theatre, where she met her husband-to-be, actor Christopher Benjamin. A run at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket followed with The Case In Question, with John Clements and Zena Walker. Then, during the golden age of classic TV series, she appeared in: Roads to Freedom, The Golden Bowl, Jennie: Lady Randolph Churchill and the long-running series The Brothers. She wrote plays for BBC radio, one of which, Nobby s Day, won the Giles Cooper award for Best Play 1987. She lives in London with her husband and is frequently visited by her three children and three grandchildren. This is her first novel.
