This festschrift , published by the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), is a compilation on of essays in honour of Dr Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, a Fellow of the Society and the current Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. A graduate of one of the peace studies programmes established by the society, members deemed it fit to celebrate the IGP whose remarkable blend of academic and professional excellence has set a new standard for policing in Nigeria, inspiring a new generation of officers to emulate his dedication and commitment. In recognition of his sterling professional contributions, leading scholars, professionals and practitioners in the fields of policing, security, peace and development in the country analysed the critical, debated topic of state policing and other contemporary peacebuilding issues with direct effect on the country's security architecture. The two volumes constitute a profound resource material in the study of policing, security, peace and development in Nigeria and across the world.
