Some Basic Themes in the Quran

The main aim of this book is to discuss some basic themes in the Quran as they have been viewed within the religious and intellectual culture of Islam. The Quran is the constitution revealed by God to regulate and govern human life. It is the book which guides the Muslim community to its destiny to become the best community ever raised up for mankind. This book complements the author's earlier book on similar themes Cosmology in the Quran and will be of much help to students of Islam to understand the basic themes of the Quran: Universe, Marriage, Law and Justice, Guidance and Soul as propounded in the Quran. S. Laming obtained his BA in Arabic language from the University of Madina, Saudi Arabic 1983, MA in Arabic Language from the University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan 1987, MA in Islamic Studies from University of Malaya, Malaysia 1993 and PhD in Islamic Philosophy from University of Malaya, Malaysia 1999. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, Matriculation Centre, IIUM, Malaysia.
