ALERT: Many pouch laminators on the market can seal a maximum of only 5 mil pouches, so PLEASE make sure your laminator is capable of sealing 10 mil pouches prior to ordering. Note: Industry standard specification for 10 mil laminating pouches is 10 mil on each flap for a total of 20 mil added to your paper card. 1 mil equals 1/1000th of an inch (metric: 25 microns). The industry calls these pouches; however, are sealed on only one edge instead of three (more like a file folder than a pouch, but with a 3/32” flat folded spine).

Laminating Tips:

When trying ANY for the 1st time, consider running at a slightly lower temperature (or faster speed). If the results are cloudy, you can always run the sheet again at a higher temperature or slower speed, but you cannot fix heat blisters caused by running too hot.

If you plan on trimming or punching sheets, wait 24 to 72 hours for adequate adhesive curing time and a professional cut edge.

All laminating pouches are not the same. Oregon Lamination laminating pouches have not been setting on the shelf for years. This means fresh adhesive may melt faster than expected, which means potential faster running times or slightly lower temperatures might be used.
