Note: Industry standard specification for 3 mil laminating pouches is 3 mil on each flap for a total of 6 mil added to your paper sheet. 1 mil equals 1/1000th of an inch (metric: 25 microns). The industry calls these pouches, yet they are sealed on only one edge instead of three (like a folder, but with 3/32” flat seal for the fold).
