Changes to a fibrous gel when in contact with wound exudate, creating a moist wound environment, important to the healing process. Transforms into a soft gel sheet which contours closely to the wound bed and will not adhere to the wound upon removal. Calcium alginate encourages natural debridement, absorbing 15x its own weight to help with drainage. Ideal for the management of moderate to heavily draining partial and full thickness wounds including pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, leg ulcers, donor sites, surgical wounds, lacerations and abrasions at stages 3 or 4.
