Compliant: This Scout derby car body is made from the Official BSA car block, so it meets all derby race specifications. You can approach race day with confidence! Prepped for Weights: There are two pre-drilled ⅜” holes in the rear of the derby car body for cylinder weights. The body weighs around 2.8 oz, so you’ll need 1.5 to 2 oz of weight to hit the limit. Aerodynamic: The cool silhouette of this pre-cut pine derby car makes it completely aerodynamic as it races down the track. Add your own weights, wheels, and axles, and you’re ready to compete. Classic Design: Modeled after the Ford Mustang, Pinewood Pro’s Firebird pre-cut pine derby car body gives a nod to the American icon with its strategic curves and angles. Fully Customizable: The wood body of the Mustang-style derby car requires minimal sanding before designing the exterior aesthetic. From there, add paint, decals, and accessories to your liking. Pinewood Pro’s pre-cut Mustang-style derby car body is made from an Official BSA derby car block, so it meets all derby specifications: 7" long x 1.75" wide x 1.25" high. Just do a little sanding, paint, and decorate. You will need to add your own wheels, axles, and weights of your choice (sold separately) to complete your car. This derby car body is an excellent starting point, and works great for a Lightning McQueen-inspired design!


The pros at Pinewood Pro did the hard part of cutting and shaping the block for you. You’ll notice the sleek lines and aerodynamic design from hood to rear which are modeled after the mighty Ford Mustang. We even drilled two 3/8" weight holes in the rear of the derby car body so you can add cylinder weights and either hide them inside of the car body or make them stand out as part of the overall design aesthetic.


This car body for Pinewood Derby racing will weigh around 2.8 oz, so you’ll need 1.5 to 2 oz of weight to bring it up to the 5 oz limit. Weights, wheels, axles and paint are sold separately.
