POPOV: The Tsar's Detective: Popov must solve a murder to save his Tsar

The Tsar and Tsarina of Russia are attending the British sailing regatta at Cowes Week 1913, a year before the First World War. In their retinue of Dukes and Duchesses, butlers and maids, is an unassuming portly gentleman named Alexander Popov, a St Petersburg police Inspector seconded to the Tsar's service for his English trip. Suddenly people start to die, and Popov realises there is more to these deaths than meets the eye. He has just 48 hours to catch the killer, but faced with deceit and lies from everyone - not only the Tsarina's holy man, Grigory Rasputin, but also his own assistant, Igor Rodzianko - he finds he cannot trust anyone. Everyone, it seems, has secrets to keep, and it is no coincidence that British King George V and the German Kaiser, Wilhelm II, are also attending Cowes. Popov finds himself in a race against time to solve the murders and save his Tsar.
