Each 4-1/2 inch diameter metal wire brush is manufactured with strong, extremely coarse, crimped steel bristles affixed radially around the center of the drum. As the grinder spins these strong bristles can flex into the pits and divots throughout the irregular work piece. In addition to providing rapid stock removal and semi-flexibility, brush design promotes airflow which reduces heat buildup that may damage a work piece. Additionally, compared to other wire brushes, the 4.5 inch diameter and 4 inch width of the wire brush provides a greater surface area than other wire brushes that attach to angle grinders or drills. This increased surface area will cut down on work time and operator fatigue especially on larger surface area work pieces. With it’s super coarse steel wires and crimped brush design, the 4.5 inch black hawk abrasives steel wire abrasive drum is perfect for the following applications: aggressively removing rust, scale or other imperfections especially on irregular surface areas with pits and divots. This wire drum will work faster than the nylon wire drum but can get caught on large obstructions such as nuts and bolts. Use with caution. This drum is affixed with a hub that fits 3/4 inch keyed shaft and is made to be used on surface finishing machines and linear grinding machines (A.K.A. Burnishers, burnishing machines, contouring grinders, etc.)
