Sarafan 1 Student's Book

The “Sarafan” series is designed to follow the “Soroka: Russian for Kids” series: Sarafan 1 is what comes next after Soroka 3 has been completed. As with the Soroka series, each Sarafan level has a Student’s Book, Activity Book and Teacher’s Book that complement each other. The Student’s Book for Sarafan 1 deals with grammar – finishing all the cases. The topic for conversation is traveling. Students will learn how to name different countries and languages in Russian, and how to say that they go from one place to another. They will explore Russia with a spaceship crew; visit Lake Baikal in the south of Siberia, and the Valley of Geysers on the Kamchatka Peninsula; and admire polar nights (Aurora Borealis) in Murmansk and the hospitality of people in the Urals. The Student’s Book features more exercises, dictations and oral drills.
