Want to self-publish professionally for as little cost as possible? Then this is the book for you. Whether you’ve written for fun or profit, in this how-to manual you will discover the cheapest way to publish your book. Inside these pages are guidelines on publishing your book, and how much it should cost you. There are lots of 'how to' pages ranging from putting your book on Amazon, advertising and promoting and how to get those all-important reviews. Plus a chapter on getting your book on Audible. At the end of chapters are blank pages for you to reflect, make notes but most importantly for you to record your dreams and ambitions. Ebooks are great, but Don’t Go For Broke would be best utilized in a paperback version so you can write your notes in it, bend page corners, insert book marks and generally use it as a reference guide that you can dip into every now and again when you move on to the next stage of your journey. Utterly practical, this is a bible for all self-published authors.Highly recommended! Before we look at the book, let me tell you who I am and why my opinion of thistext might be helpful to you. Well, I'm a self-published author who haspublished eighteen books over the last twenty years and sold just over 200,000of them. I also set up and now organize The Wishing Shelf Book Awards, and I've personally helped and worked with thousands of self-published authorsall over the world. So, yes, I know a few things aboutself-publishing. Now that's out of the way, let's discuss the book. Firstly, allow me to try to sum it up in a sentence. Don't Go Broke, Go forBook Growth is basically the A-Z of self-publishing, from Advertising Yourselfto Writing a Synopsis like a Pro. And it's good; very good. So much so, I wishI'd had access to a book like this when I started out all those years ago. Whilst reading this book, two things struck me. Firstly, the author'sknowledge of the self-publishing industry and how you might wish to go aboutpublishing a book this way, is far-reaching and I couldn't fault it.Secondly, it's written in such a chatty sort of way - and not at all overlytechnical - writers who are about to self-publish for the first time will notbe overwhelmed by it. So, if you are contemplating self-publishing, I'd happilyrecommend this book to you. Whether you are trying to work out how to embedfonts or how to put together your Amazon Author Page, this book will help youto get there. In fact, it's so well-written and so accessible, I'm goingto put a link to it on The WishingShelf Book Awards' website. A'Wishing Shelf' Book Review thewsa.co.uk * * * * * After reading "Don'tGo For Broke" I ran a strategic promotion and became an Amazon #1bestseller in two markets (the US and Canada). My UK ranking soared as well. There were hundreds of book marketers and promoters who promised me great results, but this book actually delivered for me. Star Rating: 5 - Utterly practical, this is a bible for allself-published authors. Highly recommended! Here is an award-winning author to hold your hand, and offer tipsto save time and money in self-publishing. This book offers helpful info about the editing process, formatting, and themany jobs you'll have to master. These include social media and networking, advertising, reviews and promotions, and creating audio books. It details howto save on the costs involved in getting it all done. The author shares lots ofinformation in a down-to-earth, chatty style. She is open about the many mistakesshe made, and the agony of receiving one-star reviews. Also, she offers loadsof tips, links and services she'd recommend. She emphasizes doing lots ofresearch, and to listen, and apply what you learn. I like to learn from the mistakes of others. My biggest takeaways includenot to put your book up for sale too soon, and not to spend money onadvertising unless you have enough reviews. What I love about this book is thatit's like having your own personal coach on the sidelines. You have someoneoffering encouragement to persevere and not to give up.
