How to write the story of your life

Anyone can write a good biography as long as they are able to overcome their initial fears, with dedication and with the intention to look deep into their own lives. When we are writing, some of our initial doubts have to do with how to start, how to organize our memories, and if we should use the first or third person of the singular. And new questions come up as we write along, being the most distressing one if we will be able to make it. And, although I don’t have an answer for that, I do know that we can get results if we are constant in our objectives. But I also know that desire and dedication are more important than learning techniques, because techniques don’t guarantee anything, although they surely make our work easier.Personally, I will like to have an encounter with my own creative possibilities. This book has the contents that I teach in my in-person and online workshops, which I have been organizing for the past fifteen years now, and here I describe some of the tools that make the writing experience easier, and I also give examples of professional writers and exercises whose main aim is for the readers to practice techniques, to help them retrieve their memories, and to imagine and play.Each life is unique. But if there is no record of their memories, considerations, images, dreams, and fantasies, those lives will be gone forever.Virginia Haurie
