In the world of Midnight Casualty, the concept of causality has become twisted, resembling something closer to acausality—forget the matchbox, you can start a fire from a mere suggestion in the mind! Within the mysterious Valley, this twisted interpretation has dug its roots through a field of silver grass—people are born from thin air, without purpose. "Causality-born." The tyrannical group of MIDNIGHT controls the Valley through the city-state of Illset. For twenty years, they've snuffed out all sources of causality—it is a sin in their order. Using such magics or having the mark of silver in the eyes will lead to your execution. These executions are carried out by their knights, people indoctrinated into their beliefs from a young age. Knights have managed to crush the causality-born underneath their boot, utilizing advanced equipment unavailable to the public. Midnight Casualty follows the story of Tusk, a causality-born teenager working in Illset. He hides his identity behind a mask, working a day-to-day as a street cleaner, cleaning up after MIDNIGHT's messes. As visions of a stranger begin to invade Tusk's dreams, a countdown to midnight begins.
