“Seven good twirls make the best corn dogs in the world!” Sid E. Burns may be the best corn dog chef Ocean Beach has ever seen, but that doesn’t mean everybody loves him. Hank from Hank’s Hamburgers is fed up with the competition beating out his soggy brown lettuce burgers. With a greasy fist, Hank orders his hooligans to rid the town of Sid so he can steal summer and the Fireworks Festival. After suffering this defeat, Sid must race back to town and his secret floating farm in time to rescue the day from Hank. It’s no easy trek, his journey is filled with a cantankerous caboose ride through the Flabberdash River Pass, a treacherous tugboat trip amid the Rock Isles of Jofiffimy, and a harrowing half biplane haul over the Morp Duben Dam. Through it all, Sid must learn to believe in himself, the way the people of Ocean Beach do. With the help of his friends, Lucky and BJ–and his sideburns he thinks are magical–Sid E. Burns unlocks the courage and imagination inside himself to overcome Hank and save Ocean Beach, transforming into Captain Sideburns along the way.
