Ni hao! What you are about to browse is a potpourri of our experiences during our two years in China, from January 2003 to January 2005. We spent two years in cities in NE China by the Yellow Sea:. As well, we spent part of one summer teaching in Henan province, a 20-hour journey inland.. This is a ‘browse’ document, not at all intended to be read word for word, or to grip you so that you can’t put it down. The bulk of it consists of letters that Mary Anne wrote to the ‘home folks’ relating to them of our cultural experiences, observations, reflections. These are indicated in the Table of Contents as “Serials.” Those listed as “Sidebars” are more focused blurbs about specific situations or reflections written by Wayne. The contents are our personal observations, thoughts, and opinions. They are what we saw, felt, experienced. We enjoyed sharing them with our families and friends, and here, now, with you.
