In order to reduce the deformations of the joints, their depth must be much less than their width, minimum dimensions are 0.19x0.19 in, for wider joints the depth should be preferably half of the width and it is adjusted by the use of backup material. Recommended joint widths are >0.39 IN and < 1.37 IN The joint width and depth ratio should be about 2:1.
