This is a compression bag, you can hold a sleeping bag, but it is not a sleeping bag itself.
The flap lid is put over the filled stuff sack, which is then compressed to the desired size by means of the four compression straps. 
The resulting pressure is evenly distributed and thus achieves the minimum size. 
The durable nylon fabric is reinforced at all stressed seams, so you can rely on the Compression Sack even when compressed.
With the straps you can attach the sleeping bag to your backpack during travel and camping trips and not have to worry about it coming loose from its container.
