Our plug uses a rare earth high strength neodymium magnet, rated specifically to function in high temperature environments extracting unwanted ferrous particles from your vehicles engine. The VOTEX drain plug will operate in temperatures to 150°C or 302°F. A quality motor oil will tolerate oil temperatures up to 250 degrees, but starts breaking down once you reach 275 degrees. The operating temperature for engine oil is between 194 to 230°F, so our magnet will work in temperatures far past that of engine oil.
