TRAINING THE FAITHFUL

As a young girl in Brittan, Lizzie dreamed if living in America. Nothing about her present life appealed to her from the hard work on the farm to the probability of someday marrying and continuing in her mother's footsteps. Without complaint she obediently and dutifully did what was required of her at home while savoring every moment of her last year in high school accepting that her desire for further education was an impossibility. When her teacher was called away during the first semester, as divine appointment would have it, her replacement was a professor from America. Lizzie was excited and hopeful that the new teacher could tell her more about the country she longed to one day visit. Thanks to the American teacher, Lizzie's dreams could become her reality. She would soon find that when the Lord closes one door, He opens another. Without understanding what was happening at times, the Lord was training her through life changing events, highs and lows, and impossible situations to be a faithful servant in His kingdom. Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls ti him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. 1 Peter 4:19 KJV
