This Bundle is a 6-month set of replacement media for the OASE BioMaster 600 Canister Filter and the OASE BioMaster Thermo 600 Canister Filter w/ Heater. There are EIGHT items: 3X OASE BioMaster 250, 350, 600 & 850 Replacement 45ppi Carbon Pre-Filter Foam 6-Pack; 1X OASE BioMaster 250, 350, 600 & 850 Replacement 30ppi Filter Foam; 3X OASE BioMaster 250, 350, 600 & 850 Replacement 20ppi Filter Foam; and 1X Silicone Grease. The Hel-X 13 Biomedia does not need normally need to be replaced. The 45ppi Carbon Pre-Filter Foam needs to be replaced the most frequently. It has the smallest holes of all the filter material, and it will be plugged up and fall apart before the 30ppi and 20ppi media. Though this is listed as an Inland Seas product, ALL the media comes from OASE with the original OASE packaging. We also include a small tube of Inland Seas Silicone Grease 1cc. We highly recommend you lubricate the o-rings every time you open up your BioMaster Filter. How often your media needs to be replaced really depends on many factors such as bio-load. If you have a heavy bio-load, then every six months may not be enough. With a light bio-load, once a year may be enough. In general, when you can't clean your media properly, or when it's falling apart, it needs to be replaced.
