Nicla's Story

Nineteen-year-old seamstress, Nicla, struggles to survive as bombs rain down around her in war-torn Tuscany. She longs for her first love, Claudio, who is fighting in the Italian army. When the Nazis loot her home and take her sewing machine, Nicla finds domestic work for a countess in a villa on nearby Montenero. Luca, the countess’s handsome son, falls in love with Nicla and vies for her affection. As Nicla wrestles with conflicted feelings, she discovers the countess's incredible secret which leads Nicla into greater and greater danger working for the resistance. Capture would mean unspeakable consequences. Nicla’s Story is a tale of remarkable bravery and perseverance. But it is also a tale of love - romantic love, love of family, and love of country.
