1. The loop should sit high on the neck towards the ears to avoid causing the dog to cough or choke.
2. Hold the lead in front of your torso – For example, you’re walking your dog on your left side, hold the padded handle in your right hand, directly in front of your torso.
3. Stabilize and control the lead – Now place your left hand on the lead approximately 2 feet above your dog so you have both hands on the leash. In this way, you are able to guide and control your dog with your both hands, thus controlling all aspects of your dog’s movements.
10. Keep dogs guessing by changing directions – Dogs will resist constant pressure, meaning the longer you pull back and the more pressure you put on your dog’s lead, the harder they will pull forward. Changing directions every time your dog pulls forward can be helpful.
