At an early age, Miranda quickly fell in love with art and drew constantly, creating short picture books to share with family and friends. She loved to study images from animated children's films, graphic novels, and comics whenever she went to the library.Around age 11, she made a 100-page picture book inspired by a fairy manga she studied. Surprisingly, the idea of becoming an author never entered her mind. Miranda wanted to be an animator and didn't consider comics until her last year of high school, during which she began writing The Spirit Seeds and later illustrated the first book at age 19.
