Casting is effortless with this rod. The action would be considered a soft action 6:4.

This rod will cast most flies from weightless to bead head nymphs. It is probably not a great rod for heavy nymphing due to its softer action but would work for light weight nymphing. It is however excellent for soft presentation of weightless flies and is a hoot on smaller fish to medium sized fish.

It will handle about a 15 inch trout or bigger if done right, it is very fun on smaller trout. It would also be a blast on a bluegill pond or small to medium sized bass.
