Owens Ridge Climbers Guide

This Guide provides routes and guidance on the many technical climbing routes on the East Ridge of Owens Peak in the Southern Sierra. The routes range in difficulty for Class 3 to 5.5A2 and vary from 1 to 7 pitches. This guide was originally created by two local climbers, Carl Heller and Bill Stronge, in the 1970's as a pamphlet for other climbers local to the Indian Wells Valley just east of the peak. Very few of the original copies exist so it has been re-created here in as close to the original as possible. All proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to the China Lake Mountain Rescue Group, an organization founded by Carl Heller in 1958 and today continues to provide search and rescue services to the Sierra Nevada as well as other parts of California and the West.
