While searching all over her Daddy's cotton field for the best looking cotton bolls, Victoria is pleasantly surprised when she finds a talking Snout Beetle living in one of her father's cotton boll plants! Her excitment could hardly be contained! So, as fast as she could run, she shares her amazing discovery with her best friend, Marshall! Upon meeting the talking boll weevil, Anthon Grande, the friends discover he is home sick for his family and wants nothing more than to live with them down by the Big Lake. The trio, along with Vic's faithful dog, Sampson, set off on a warm sunny day to help their friend Anthon find his family. Packed with sweet potatoes, fresh water and sweet corncakes, the newly formed pack of four adventurers head towards Lake Yukata. After walking for a while in the hot sun, the friends come upon tall Magnolia trees that talk, an Owl family who eat insects, an elder wise turtle who teaches love and kindness along with a very busy squirrel named Jed-who seems to know a lot-about a lot of things! And let's not forget the mighty bullfrog mayor of the Small Forest, Senor Fernando Alejandro Nicholas, who help the friends find Anthon's family's address! Adventures ensue as the friends meet more creatures of the forest who also wish to help Anthon celebrate finding his family and honoring their happy reunion! Their day-long adventures end with a magnificent feast! Families of the lake gather at sunset for merriment, laughter and music and the prettiest dress Victoria has ever seen, made by her beautiful mother!
