What could be better than driving an ice cream truck through New Hampshire during peak foliage? Katie Thorne decided Vermont in October was the answer. Specifically, she secured a weekend gig at a rural college selling her dishes and cones at a couple events on campus after first stopping to work a two-day craft fair with her feline travel companion, Jaspurr. The college spirit is high in western Vermont as the school is deep in the heart of football season. Katie is enjoying her first evening working for the college when a sorority president approaches her about attending a party later that night with her truck. The social gathering, however, puts a chill on her hot streak when a freshman pledge ends up dead sometime in the early morning hours. When Katie realizes someone should have called 9-1-1 earlier, she takes it upon herself to figure out why the college student might now be the victim of frost-degree murder.
