This series is closely aligned with the UFLI phonics progression, as well as many other structured literacy programs. Elevating Fluency was written and created by a reading interventionist and literacy coach. Engaging differentiated passages are provided for fluency instruction and practice. The three reading passage options for each skill are approximately 25 words, 50 words, and 70+ words in length. Students are given multiple opportunities to read and write words with the targeted decoding skill while connecting them to meaningful text. Furthermore, this program does so much more than provide differentiated passage lengths for students to practice essential phonics skills while reading meaningful text. It builds language by introducing your readers to vocabulary and accessing background knowledge about the topic. There is phonemic awareness practice with the specific phonics skill. Then, students practice the targeted phonics skill with word-level fluency, connected text, repeated reading, comprehension questions, spelling practice with sound-spelling boxes, and a dictation sentence. The lessons are complete and ready to go, making them perfect for reading interventionists, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, tutors, and homeschool settings. In addition to being aligned with the science of reading, it incorporates multiple strategies recommended for students with reading difficulties, including dyslexia (IDA).
