Late-night explorations with Adobe Firefly led to the creation of my first monograph of AI-assisted illustrations. This book riffs on two simple prompts, pushing Firefly’s capabilities to see how far I could stretch it before the results tipped from beautiful to absurd. Spoiler: the line was further than I imagined. I was astonished by how seamlessly Firefly wove itself into my imagination and memory, delivering results that were stylistically cohesive, conceptually rich, and reasonably true to my own style with conventional media. AI Bunnies 1 invites you on a journey through a single night’s creative experiment, featuring portraits of bunnies adorned in the elegance of Old Japan. Wrapped in the trappings (trapped in the wrappings?) of '80s and '90s design tropes (think Griffin & Sabine ) and paying homage to Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo universe, this monograph is a testament to the surprising ways generative AI can expand an artist's creative horizons.
