Theologians have made a distinction between two parts of Christology. There is one part which concerns Christology proper or the person of Christ, and there is another part which concerns the life or ministry of Christ. This little book is focused on the former, Christology proper or the person of Christ. Why? Because if we do not understand who Jesus is then we will not understand what he does . Who Jesus is grounds what Jesus does. In Four Christological Heresies we will devote each chapter to Arianism, Nestorianism, Monophysitism and Kenoticism. We will examine the historical proponents of the heresy, the rationale of the heresy, the orthodox response to the heresy, and conclude with the implications of orthodoxy. In under a hundred pages, we will introduce the reader to who Christ really is .
