Fire King has fiery flowering that command attention, and appear early to mid summer Each offer includes 12 dormant bare root summer flowering bulbs measureing 6 inches wide Produces elegant tubular flowers that appear 24 inches above sword-like foilage When planting, loosen soil wlll and plant the bulbs approximately 2 to 4" deep and 9 to 12 inches apart. Water well after planting, and has average water needs. Water regularly, but do not over water. Flowers appear in early to mid summer. Hardy in USDA Hardy zones 4 to 9. Lift after frost in zones 4 to 6, store in a cool dry place, and replant in spring after last frost. The Fire King Crocosmia, otherwise known as Crocosmia crocosmiiflora, has gracefully arching stems that bear a multitude of tubular orange florets that mature to an intense red and form an attractive sword-shaped foliage.
