The first autumn frost has fallen in the meadow where Minnie, a tiny mishappened monarch butterfly, and her kaleidoscope are preparing for the Great Migration south to the Butterfly Forest. But on the day of the departure, Minnie, distracted with her playful antics, is left behind in the Meadow. Encouraged by her friends, guided by Ms. Patsy, the old painted lady, and with help from a unique talent Minnie has been "gifted", the two butterflies set out on one of the most epic journeys in the animal kingdom: a three-thousand-mile trek to the Butterfly Forest. Along the way of their perilous adventure, dodging predators, braving the elements and overcoming a series of mishaps and calamities, Minnie discovers her inner strength and forms unbreakable bonds of friendship.
