We hope you laugh out loud at times; maybe identify with a character, setting, or event; or learn something new. Mostly we hope you just enjoy our offerings. You will not want to put this book down until you’ve shared every one of these writers’ experiences. In an upstairs room of the Don Persson Renton Senior Activity Center, a group of writers met several times a month to learn more about the craft of writing and to share our written stories, poems, articles, memories, character sketches, books in progress, and other assorted writings. Experienced facilitator and editor, Bev Fowler, has guided this process for nearly two years. We are delighted—and excited—to share some of our favorite writing with you in this anthology. Some of us have been creative writers for many years, while others have embarked on this as a new endeavor. Tackling assignments in the writers' workshop, we considered how to approach an assigned task. Once we finalized our work—if writers can ever consider their work finalized— we shared it with our colleagues. We surprised ourselves with the many different perspectives on the same task and offered our feedback. We invite readers to join us for this delightful glimpse into the wisdom of the ages as our senior citizens share their lives, loves, challenges, successes, and imaginations.
