I desperately wanted to be loved, to be important to some-one. We all do. But that desperation? Not so good. It consumed me. Looking back, I can see how it was driven by a family dynamic that I will touch on later in this book. Suffice it to say, I never felt loved, so I searched in all the wrong places for a very long time. The men and things I pursued provided a temporary filling, but my soul was never whole. I always felt there was more—like I was missing out. An unshakable emptiness gnawed at me—until I was healed. Do you ever feel emptiness in your soul? Have you tried to fill it with people, places, and things? I’m not saying these are bad, but they don’t provide the sustenance our souls long for and desperately need. I’ll take it a step further—what you need is earnestly seeking you! It took me until forty-one to figure that out. If you’re younger than forty-one, I hope my life story and the lessons I’ve learned will help bring your soul to wholeness sooner rather than later.
