SUBCONSCIOUS CITY: LOVE, ART & ARTISTS JERSEY CITY USA

Like many cities in America and elsewhere, artists make their home in Jersey City, New Jersey, where the Hudson River flows into Hudson Bay. They’d always been there, just far fewer until the second decade of the 21st century. After 9-11 and the recession but before the pandemic and hyper-gentrification, droves of artists came to Jersey City and created art. As the ebb and flow of history transformed cities, countries and cultures, the artists among us revealed emotional truths we needed to see in order to know. Set in, around and before the year 2015, these stories of love, art and artists occur between urban epochs, when creativity changed neighborhoods and consciousness and together everyone dwelt in the Subconscious City.
