About Licorice Root: 

Known the world over as a famous flavor for candy, licorice root is also revered as a naturally sweet, harmonizing herb in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Herbal Medicine. Its soothing properties helps mask harsh or bitter flavors in medicinal herb formulas. It is known as a demulcent herb for its ability to coat irritated cellular membranes.  

Licorice root is grown organically by family farmers in Egypt and China. Cutting the root is an art which needs the proper machinery to create consistently sized cubes rather than a shredded mass. Brewing Instructions: 

Add 1 teaspoon to 8 oz freshly boiled water. Steep 3 -5 minutes and strain through a fine mesh filter. For a stronger brew, simmer for 10-15 minutes on a low heat. Strain and enjoy. Chill to add to cold beverages to increase their sweetness and wellness properties. 

Blend with green tea and/or other herbs like ginger, licorice, lemon grass and cinnamon to make delicious Turmeric teas. 

Enjoy with milk, non-dairy milk or heat and froth your milk for a foamy treat! 

Suggested Uses: 

Add the brewed liquid to sweeten smoothies, beverages, soups, salad dressing  

Blend with star anise, anise seeds, fennel seeds and/or fenugreek seeds to increase its characteristic licorice flavor
