Condemned to spend the remainder of his natural life in prison, Eric Waugh was alone in this world without hope and without God. Thankfully, God did not leave him that way. Jesus Christ did for Eric what education, science, philosophy, religion, rehab, and correction couldn't; He made Eric a new creature. Eric had a thirst that only Christ's living water could quench and the primary difference between Eric and the woman at the well, is that God saved Eric in a cell! God pardoned Eric spiritually, later paroled him physically, and has gone on to perform the good pleasure of His will in and through Eric as an author, preacher, teacher, singer, songwriter and more. As Adrian Rogers once said, "Those with the deepest devotion often go through the darkest times." There is something about those dark times that makes the light of God that much sweeter, brighter, and more clarifying. Although the sermons contained in this book were written inside a prison cell, they were drawn from the living well of God's Word. Many of them were penned at night by the light penetrating the window of his dark cell. The preaching set forth in these pages has insight from a man who, despite being confined to a prison, was free and in close fellowship with God. What was put forth from his pen is evidence to where he was really seated when he wrote it (Ephesians 2:6).
