Becoming Caiping Sun is a collection of memories from a peasant girl, born in rural Communist China to a former slave. Through education and tenacity, Caiping left her humble roots to receive an education at a Chinese University where she later taught. Eventually, Caiping was converted to Jesus Christ and dedicated her life to spreading his love both in her native China and, later, in her new home, the United States. This book tells Caiping's story through a series of loosely chronological vignettes. It is primarily comprised of Caiping's responses to questions in a series of interviews conducted by Kinsi Bollinger.
