What we Want and What we Get are often Two Different Things: A Memoir

Although my life began in a dysfunctional family, the only child of an alcoholic father, I was raised by my single mother. Struggling with Borderline Personality Disorder, I became a victim of sexual assaults and domestic abuse. I have had lifelong struggles with a variety of mental health issues and I am hoping to share the commonality of my life’s experiences with any readers interested in learning about these struggles. It is my hope that in sharing my lifelong battles, readers might be able to avoid or sidestep some of the difficulties that I have faced. Perhaps they may gain insight and be able to better understand themselves or help someone else who they find in a similar situation.
