I created Coloring Kriolu as a fun and engaging way to introduce children to the Cabo Verde language and culture. As generations pass, Kriolu is at risk of fading. With many of our parents and grandparents no longer here to pass it down, it's up to us to keep our culture alive. This coloring book is just the beginning. It’s designed to spark curiosity in young minds and create early connections to our roots. I plan to release a series of books covering topics like numbers, animals, fruits, places, and more. As we know, Kriolu is truly a language of the people... our people. It isn’t taught on Rosetta Stone or in most classrooms like Portuguese, French, or Spanish. That’s why resources like this are so important. Although made for kids, Coloring Kriolu is a great starting point for anyone looking to learn or reconnect with the language of Cabo Verde. Let’s keep our heritage alive one page at a time.
