Are you happy? Do you know anyone who does not want to be happy? We are wired for happiness. The pursuit of happiness is so self-evident that it is listed as an inalienable right in the United States Declaration of Independence. A better question than “Are you happy?” or “What makes you happy?” is “What makes you happier?” We know that happiness is not an all-or-nothing experience. At times we are more happy. At times we are less happy. Exploring the idea that we can be happy, happier, and happiest, the four sections of this book examine four ways we can pursue happiness. Each pursuit of happiness has some good, some bad, and some ugly consequences. Warning: The fourth and happiest level will not make you happy. At least not at first.
