Listening to the Mirror

When we want to be like someone, we say we want to mirror that person. If you want to mirror someone, then you must listen to them. How often do you see children with the same mannerisms and speech patterns as the parents? They are mirroring them because of their love and respect for them. Thus, the title, Listening to the Mirror. But how do you listen, especially if the person lived 2000 years ago. You read about him through history books, contemporary thoughts and their own writings. That is what we do in this book. The goal is for each of us to mirror Jesus in our lives. We do this by listening to Him. When we begin to listen we discover that He spoke through many others and that He wants to speak through You as well. So, join me in this journey as we begin this adventure of Listening to the Mirror! Al Santymire grew up in rural West Virginia, about 70 miles west of Washington, DC. He preached his first sermon at the age of 10 when his mother and two brothers were snowed in on a Sunday and could not make it to church. As a teenager, Al was asked by a small Christian church to speak whenever the youth ministry hosted the evening service. Ever since those foundational days, Al has taken advantage of every opportunity to preach and teach God's Word. Al has taught everyone from toddlers to adults and served as a church deacon in Campbell, CA for 12 years, also overseeing the Benevolence Ministry. Al currently serves as a Stephen Minister at 3Crosses in Castro Valley, CA and also volunteers for several other church ministries.
