Nobody’s Girl is a work of hope. The author writes in such a way that you resonate on a primordial level. Whether you have experienced trauma or addiction issues or know someone who has. The book speaks to all of us. And we all have experienced painful situations at some point or another. While it deals with some difficult topics the book’s story is written to engage and focus on the positive outcome profited from doing the hard but necessary work to get to the other side of any painful issues. After a lifetime of hiding behind multiple facades, personalities, careers, sex, money, drugs, alcohol, and false bravado. Her survivor tools fail her. She is faced with having to talk about the truth or die.Her ability to speak from a recovery standpoint is not only profound for a newbie in the recovery process but for a survivor of traumatic abuse it is remarkable. Without having to engage in the hard explicit detail, by detail scenarios, we are able see the application of her newfound tools at work on the PTSD, her addition and how she found and used the tools to freedom. The book takes us through the process needed for her to find freedom and self-realization in a genuine real sense, that if we talk about it, do the work we can heal and in that process regain hope. Hope is the message. There is relief. Beautifully written and spiritually uplifting. Keys To Recovery Newspaper July 2016: Beth Dewey Sybil Paige's candid memoir grabbed my attention right from the get go with her introduction. This book tells about Paige's struggles with addiction. Also her personal experience with trauma and how it shapes us into the adults we become. Trudging through life with our own personal armor. Eventually finding out what no longer serves us when we enter recovery. She mentions in her book that her hope is that who ever needs to hear this message will. Well thank you Sybil! That's exactly what happened. I needed to hear this message and I am sure there are many others out there that need some hope too. This book is a memoir...but it is so much more. It is a book about Hope! We all need a good dose of hope in the world we live in. Hope that we do recover and in sharing our stories we heal just a little bit more. A must read. My story involves deep rooted abuse and trauma that ed be to a genetic disease and a life of pain. That is my story. Not everyone's, but we all have one. Hiding mine almost killed and I had no idea I was dying. Today I am free, I have been able to move past anger rage and pain from feeling unworthy and on every level due to MY choices that I repeated.  and have a very fulfilling life. I live in today. I feel that if we do not talk about our stores, somewhere,  we cannot heal. My public statement is not necessary for everyone.  But talking about it, working through it, learning to have empathy even for the most unthinkable predator, and forgiving is what saved my life. I deep desire is that my story sheds some hope to everyone, addict or not we repeat what we do not heal. About the author Sybil Paige  is the pen name for (Paige DePonte) who is an awardedphotographer, writer, publisher and filmmaker. Her career as a highfashion photographer took her to Europe and New York. From there Paigetraveled the globe extensively creating two fine art coffee table bookson bio-diverse hotspots and tribes in danger of loosing their culturaldiversity. One of which was nominated twice and won a publishing awardfor spirituality. Paige's films helped bring awareness of culturalissues and one, won an award as best documentary. She has exhibited herfine art work in Europe, New York, California and Hawaii. Today, alongwith her children they own and operate a small ranch with horsebacktrail rides and a burger joint. They created a small gallery space atthe ranch and she exhibits her work there seasonally. She splits hertime currently between California & Maui,   Having found a peace in her soul; this veryspecial place is where she enjoys life in recovery; sharing her timewith her children and five grandchildren. She loves the ocean, surfingand riding horses.
