After growing up in New Jersey, Pamela Love graduated from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania. She worked as a teacher and in marketing before turning to writing. She's the author of several other picture books: A Loon Alone, A Cub Explores, A Moose's Morning, and Lighthouse Seeds, all published by Down East Books, as well as Brigid and the Butter, Staircase for the Sisters, The Sword and the Cape, and A Prayer and a Pickaxe, all published by Pauline Books and Media. She has also written an easy reader, Two Feet Up, Two Feet Down, published by Scholastic Children's Books. Her poems, stories, and plays have appeared in such children's magazines as Highlights for Children, Cricket, and Plays: The Drama Magazine for Young People. She lives with her family in Maryland.
