Solarcabin Off Grid Cabin Plans: Designed by an Offgridder for DIY Builders

This book is a culmination of 20 years of living off grid and the designs I created over those years to help other people looking for simple and affordable off grid cabin plans. I started designing and drafting cabins as a teen and drafting classes was one of the few classes in school that I cared about and showed up for. In college I studied architectural drafting and had dreams of being an architect one day but marriage and kids took precedence. Instead I designed and built many sheds for local people and that is what interested me in small structure design. In 2003 after a setback in life I found myself homeless and broke and living in a small camper on a piece of property I inherited from my granddad's old homestead. I had lots of time and not much money so I designed a simple cabin I could build myself using new and some salvaged materials. I also learned about solar power and off grid systems as I would not be connected to the grid and I used simple systems that I could build cheap to handle my needs at the cabin and I invented and a tinkered with many off grid designs. From that I joined some off grid groups and shared my designs and was encouraged by people that asked for more cabin plans. So I put my skills to work designing cabins that I thought could be built by anyone with a few tools and without complicated carpentry skills. It was that encouragement from the many friends I have made in groups and on my website and Youtube channel that has sustained me over these 20 years and for those friendships I am very grateful.
